Yesterday was spent knitting on a new sweater (woo!) and plying the blue-yellow singles. I wanted to try Navajo plying with my singles, to keep the blue and yellow striping distinct. But I only spin on a spindle! Navajo-plying tends to happen on a wheel! What do I do?
Obviously, I google and the internet answers me. I followed the instructions in this excellent post and YouTube video, and everything worked out great. My first three-ply yarn!
60 yards of awesome. And I’m only about 1/4th done with the blue/yellow fiber. I’m thinking I’m going to buy a little more, so I have enough to spin 360 yards of three-ply and knit some socks.
P.S. Pushing back the CY series until Monday. I suck! Taking photos and knitting swatches is time-consuming. Also, I added a photo to the “Weight” segment, illustrating the different weights of yarn.
In further appeasement, here is a picture of a hat I knitted during my summer trip to Wisconsin. Yarn is Lion Brand 100% wool, purchased at Target in desperation when I realized I was leaving for two weeks and I only had one ball of yarn on me. I think it is the platonic ideal of cabled hats.
